hello. hi. welcome. the name's beatrice, the game is reading.

this is going to be a very casual, low-stakes blog and i'll just be putzing around here when the mood strikes. you can follow my various social media stuffeth if you like.

right now i like to read romance, especially historical romance, but my tastes do change. at one point i read only contemporary young adult fiction, at another point i read only #ownvoices literary fiction. clearly, i cannot promise to keep reading romance forever.

but, since i am reading hella romance right now, i thought i'd kick off this site with 5 of my all-time favorite romances. the list is not exhaustive—instead i tried to pick titles that show the variety of weird shit i'm into.

in no particular order:

— A Girl Like Her by Talia Hibbert: soft. so soft. chubby autistic black woman is unwillingly forced to be friends with her very sweet Captain America neighbor. she's abrasive, he bakes her lasagna [amazon / goodreads]

— A Rogue by Night by Kelly Bowen: competence porn. competence. porn. okay? she's a hard-headed smuggler/surgeon; he's also a hard-headed smuggler/surgeon. they save the day, together! class differences, check. chemistry, check. [amazon / goodreads]

Dirty Laundry by Heidi Cullinan: an oldie but a goodie (recently re-released!) a top-notch portrayal of two people with wildly different backgrounds finding out that they fit together so well. both characters are neurodivergent and kinky. heart eyes forever. [amazon / goodreads]

and there you have it. between these books, you can see, roughly, where my tastes are when it comes to romance fiction.

thank you for reading and visiting my new blog! comment below with 3 books that define your taste as a reader!!

coming soon: book reviews, book recommendations, etc.
